Everyone loves that crackling sound when you bite a piece of crispy roasted pork belly. But a lot of us think that this is a really tough dish to pull off at home. I thought the same way too until I got to open my eyes when I saw how my housemate made it at ease. And it could not be easier to make at home! A lot of you have asked me for the recipe when I posted a photo of that seductive pork belly on my Instagram (@veronicaphm) for anyone who hasn't followed FYI lol. Finally it's up today.

Ingredients:

- A piece of pork belly. It shouldn't be too thick or too thin, something looks like this would turn out to be perfect.

- Salt. A lot of salt.

Yep, that's all!

Making:

- Firstly, and also most importantly, use a kitchen towel to wipe off all the water on the pork skin. If the skin is not dried completely, it would not be crackling and crispy. This might be the only part that requires a bit of effort.

- Pre-heat the oven at 220C.

- Sprinkle salt on top the pork skin. Make sure to cover all the spot. Don't be scared that the pork will get salty.

- Put the pork belly inside the oven for 20 mins. Take a break and do anything you like.

- Come back after 20 mins, take the pork belly out of the oven. You will see that a white thin layer of salt has been formed and separated from the skin surface. Remove this layer of salt or else your pork belly will be extremely salty.

- Put the pork belly back in the oven for another 20-25 mins. It's quite important to check after 20 mins because each oven has different heating system.

And that's it! All you need to do left is cut the pork belly into small bites and impress your family and friends! I know it sounds unrealistic (it's actually the easiest recipe I've ever uploaded), but it's the truth. If you would like me to shoot a video on making this dish please let me know in the comment below, maybe it would help you guys to imagine easier. If anyone try out this recipe after reading this blog post, please send me a photo, I would love to see your creation!

See you all in my next recipe!

Look at the crackling skin!
